Tomahawk

The Tomahawk is a unique tool for sizing and shaping carbonate sedimentary rock.
Nye engineers have perfected the art of turning ideas, and design concepts into profitable working solutions. 3D modeling, and force vector analysis, helps ensure that form follows function, and maximum performance is attained.
This is a tool that quickly cuts, and trims dimensional limestone. The TMK design is based on our customer’s own ideas. A 7″ thick solid steel baseplate, and 11,000 pound gross mass helps the TMK slice through thick slabs easily, without pounding the carrier.
The Tomahawk uses Nye’s patented Cleaver cutting edge system, which permits rapid rotation, and replacement of the hardened AR500 alloy blades. Replacement blades are resharpened in our Mississauga CNC milling facility.
Like the Nye LSB limestone bucket, the TMK has helped revolutionize the production of high value dimensional stone products in the Silurian and Devonian limestone and dolostone formations of Southern Ontario.

CPK Pulverizers

New for 2023, the Nye CPK pulverizer features Quick Change “pin-on” teeth.
CPK series pulverizers offer the same great features as the New CP5 series with the added convenience of quick change “pin-on” teeth that can be changed in the field without the need for a welder.

CPK teeth offer the same high performance bypass crushing abilities as the CP5 series and are completely interchangeable. CPK teeth can be rotated from top to bottom and from side to side quickly to maximize productivity and tooth life.

Aggressive incisor style fangs protrude from the nose-plate for better grasping and puncturing of materials while, at the same time, providing better wear protection for the new high angle nose-plates.
Built entirely from extra thick quenched and tempered QT100 alloy plate, the new CPK series pinches, grips and crushes materials while maintaining the advanced characteristics of the CP5.
The replaceable AR500 alloy teeth are pinned in place with heavy duty hardened steel pins and locks making it the ideal option for fast and efficient tooth replacement.
All Nye Concrete Pulverizers are easy to install, safe, silent to operate and available in Direct-Pin, Quick-Coupler and Pin-Grabber compatible versions.

CPX Pulverizers

Nye CPX High Rupture Force Pulverizer.

The CPX is the latest in high-production concrete processing from the engineers at Nye. These revolutionary new, opposing-tooth pulverizers are designed for maximum performance in high-strength, steel-reinforced concrete. US and Canadian patents pending.
The unique tooth arrangement on the Patented CPX and ultra-high force (short jaw) CPX and CPH pulverizers work with direct tip-to-tip occlusion. This concentrates the rupture stress in one plane, directly between opposing teeth, maximizing cracking performance in all steel-reinforced concrete types.
Conventional pulverizer teeth typically bypass one-another, producing multiple shear planes. This results in lower rupture stresses applied to the material, and less than ideal cracking power. Conventional pulverizers also apply a “kinking action”, which tends to bunch and condense rebar into balls, producing a so-called “apocalyptic mess” of steel. CPX and CPH pulverizers tend to crack the concrete away, leaving the re-bar straighter, which can help with subsequent processing to produce marketable scrap.

CPX and CPH pulverizer front teeth protrude past the nose plates which facilitates fine picking and sorting of rebar and demolition debris on-site.

For the ultimate in high production concrete processing, nothing beats the performance of Nye CPX and CPH mechanical pulverizers.

Mantis Buckets

Nye invented the independent tine grapple bucket over 30 years ago. Our latest EXG series “Mantis” buckets feature twin self-synchronized hydraulic cylinders with tines that fold up and park over-center when not in use. The independent tines by-pass either side of the stick so you get maximum range of motion for uninterrupted digging. Ridged multi-tine versions are available for applications requiring more than two tines.
The easy to service hydraulic cylinders are protected by an integrated Load Control valve which provides load holding and relieving, synchronization, speed control and hose management functions. The cylinders are protected, which means damage due to overload and drift due to leakage is virtually eliminated. Servicing is simple and there are no complex sliding rotary seals or internal splines or gears to grind and smash.
Independent tines conform to odd shaped loads for a secure grip. The tines are tapered and fully boxed QT100 steel for maximum strength and durability. Serrations in the tines provide the right balance of grip without damaging plastic culverts and materials used in road building.
The over-center function gives the tines 180 degrees of rotation without the need for linkages or complex “cuckoo-clock” rotary actuators. With gravity assist, the tines fold-up over the top of the bucket to allow full, uncompromised digging functionality. The bucket profile is not altered by the tines or any bulky actuator mechanism, so you get the best digging bucket with a fully tapered body, dual basket radii and proper wear plates just like a regular bucket.

GP Buckets

General Purpose – buckets are designed for normal digging conditions including light shale and rock. These buckets are heavier than most OEM buckets and are considered heavy-duty by most in the industry.

UHD Buckets

Ultra Heavy-Duty – These are the heaviest rock and demolition buckets we make. Originally designed in the 80’s for the most demanding shot-rock applications in Newfoundland and Northern Ontario. When you need extreme strength and wear resistance, specify Nye UHD.

T-Rex Pulverizers

The Nye “T-Rex Pulverizer” is a new type of secondary concrete processor. It was engineered by using an approach to design called “Biomimetics“.

Nye’s engineers studied the mechanics of how carnivores crush solid bone with their teeth and they coupled that with their extensive knowledge in the demolition industry to come up with the “T-Rex”.

The lower and upper meshing and replaceable incisors intersect tip to tip. This provides a fine point of pick-up for smaller items, like bits of re-bar that tend to contaminate the concrete pile.

The hydraulic brace gives operators the choice to articulate the lower jaw, allowing the pulverizer to be positioned in numerous configurations. The rod on the hydraulic brace is protected from falling debris by a sliding rod guard that was developed specifically for this application.

Applications

The T-Rex has multiple uses on a job site. It includes, but is not limited to, precision picking and sorting of reclaimable materials, using it as a shovel to dig through debris piles, and separating reinforcing rod from concrete demolition debris.

Construction

Custom fabricated with 120,000 psi quenched & tempered steel plate, hardened pins and aluminum bronze bushings throughout.
