Dust Suppression System

This is the Nye DSS dust suppression system.
Custom designed for an underground tunneling project in Toronto. The customer requested a powerful, high-volume system with individually controlled, variable stream or fog nozzles. Designed to control heavy dust generated by hammer, saw and road header operation, the system has a maximum design flow rate of 400 gallons per minute at one hundred PSI.

Thumbs – progressive-link

Nye PT1 Progressive Link (pro-link) weld-on thumbs feature a unique single unit design, manufactured for quick and easy installation.
Heavy-duty biomimetic teeth, with serrations for extra grip, are welded solid to the base edge. The teeth mesh perfectly with your bucket because all Nye thumbs are custom built to suit your existing bucket and tooth arrangement.
The fully independent thumb linkage group is engineered to achieve 160° rotation. A simplified one-piece baseplate design means installation does not require disassembling or altering the factory pins or linkages.
Nye PT1 series pro-link thumbs are strong and versatile, built with quenched and tempered alloy steel to provide years of dependable service in the most demanding forestry and demolition applications.
Every Nye thumb is built to order so you get exactly the equipment you need – custom configurations are available to suit any application.

Loader Scoop Bucket

Nye LS1 Loader mounted front scoop bucket.
The Nye scoop bucket makes it easy to transfer back fill material from the stock pile to an excavator bucket. The excavator can then distribute the material in the trench as required.
The Nye scoop bucket outperforms and eliminates the need for a side dump bucket for back-filling.
Flat bottom design reduces stockpile waste (easier cleanup)
Nye scoop buckets are available in a variety of width and capacity configurations.
Direct pin-on and QC versions available.

Loader Grab Forks

Nye GF Loader Forks were originally designed for loading large dimensional stone in quarries. The GF series feature heavy-duty, pin replaceable “blade” forks with fully tapered tips. The main frame is built to last with QT100 quenched and tempered steel plate and AR400 in critical wear areas. Heavy torque tubes tie the tines together and prevent twisting and racking of the structure. The top grabs are hydraulically operated by top mounted double acting cylinders that enable the secure handling of even the largest stone pieces. Oversize pivot pins and bushings ensure durability and long life. Direct pin-on or Quick Coupler mounting options. Custom versions are available to suit virtually any application.

GP Buckets

General Purpose – buckets are designed for normal digging conditions including light shale and rock. These buckets are heavier than most OEM buckets and are considered heavy-duty by most in the industry.

Tilt Units

Nye tilt units have evolved alongside our tilt buckets. Our latest designs now feature 90 degrees of total rotation and the same heavy-duty double acting cylinders and hardened alloy pivot group as found in our long lasting tilt buckets.

Tilt Buckets

Nye Tilting Ditch Buckets have been continually improving over the last four decades. Our latest designs now feature a super strong one-piece QT100 front beam and twin double-acting hydraulic cylinders mounted low on the back where they belong, not on top or inside a compartment. Most models feature bolt-on edges and an onboard hydraulic control valve that provides load holding / relieving, speed control, and hose management functions.

Thumbs – Standard

Nye standard “Weld-On” thumbs are supplied as a single unit that welds to the bottom plate of the excavator arm. This type of thumb is the simplest to install and the most common. The tips of the tines will be coincident with the bucket teeth at the normal operating position allowing the operator to pick up small items. Available with a rigid mechanical brace or hydraulic cylinder.

Thumbs – Pin-On

Nye “Pin-On” thumbs pivot directly on the bucket (or coupler) pin. This allows the tines to follow the bucket teeth and stay coincident at all angles. Pin-on thumbs work well with both conventional and pin grabber style quick couplers. Buckets and attachments can be changed using the coupler, saving the need to pull the main pin each time.

All Nye pin-on thumbs come with a case-hardened alloy main pin, heavy-duty hydraulic cylinder, and mounting bracket (optional high pressure cylinder available). Nye also builds progressive link, integral, and special purpose thumbs.

Thumbs – Integral

Nye Integral Thumbs are hinged directly on the bucket so they come off clean when the bucket is uncoupled. Excellent for loading demolition debris, wood waste, armor stone, etc. Designed to work with most quick couplers, the Integral Thumb stays with the bucket at all times. This allows other attachments to be coupled without interference from the thumb. The Integral Thumb cylinder and bracket can be used with some other attachments like Grapples or Stump Harvesters.
