CPX Pulverizers

Nye CPX High Rupture-Force Pulverizer.

The CPX is the latest in high-production concrete processing from the engineers at Nye. These revolutionary new opposing-tooth pulverizers are designed for maximum performance in high-strength, steel-reinforced concrete. The CPX, and ultra-high force (short-jaw) CPH pulverizers feature a unique opposing tooth arrangement, with direct tip-to-tip occlusion. This design concentrates rupture stress in a single plane between opposing teeth, optimizing cracking performance across all steel-reinforced concrete types.

Traditional pulverizers, with teeth that bypass, create multiple shear-planes in the concrete. This force distribution results in lower rupture-stress, and less than ideal cracking power. The resulting “kinking action” tends to bunch and condense the re-bar into balls, producing a so-called “apocalyptic mess” which can be difficult to process.

Nye CPX and CPH pulverizers efficiently crack the concrete across two-point shear-planes, which concentrates rupture-stress and improves performance. The directly opposing teeth tend to crack the concrete away, leaving the re-bar straighter, which can help with subsequent processing to produce marketable scrap. CPX and CPH pulverizer teeth extend well beyond the nose plates, providing wear protection and enhanced fine-picking for sorting and loading rebar on-site.

The Nye CPX design is patented in the United States and Canada.
